I’m thinking about John Lennon and Ukraine over coffee this morning. “What in the world is he thinking about,” you’re probably saying right now? John Lennon (and Yoko) wrote a song called, So This Is Christmas.
“So this is Christmas, and what have you done? Another year over, and a new one just begun…”
As you get further into the song, you’ll hear some young people singing a chorus of, “War is over, if you want it, war is over, now!”

It was a protest song. In December of 1969, about two years before they released the song, John and Yoko ran a billboard campaign all over the world that read, “WAR IS OVER! If you want it – Happy Christmas from John and Yoko.”
