Water into wine
Jesus’ magical juice
Bloody, bloody wine
Turning water into wine at the Cana wedding is my favorite miracle. My second would be if he could turn water into an excellent dark-roasted coffee with a rich, bold flavor with deep notes of chocolate, caramel, and/or smokiness. One can only dream.
The Gospel of John is the only book where Jesus turns water into wine (John 2:1-11). I find it ironic that wine is used in the Eucharist (aka Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper) to symbolize Jesus’ blood. Of course, the Catholic sect of Christianity considers wine to be the actual blood of Christ (transubstantiation).
“Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy.”
Benjamin Franklin
So white wine would be J’s blood plasma, only? That wouldn’t work…no RBCs. The wild things religious people make up!
